Step 01.22 — Record the frame log¶
Step 22 of 22 with a helper · Chapter 01 — Frame
(no image — see text)
Parts: none.
Do: Fill this in before the frame leaves the counter. Two people, two jobs: one measures and calls the number, one writes it down.
Check
Table filled, both diagonal pairs written down as numbers rather than "looked fine".
Helper Writes the four diagonals and the final torque into the frame log.
What you're looking at
The finished frame, a tape measure and the log table. These numbers are the only baseline you will have when Ch 06 asks why the gantry will not square. "It looked fine" is not a measurement you can compare against.
| Measurement | Target | Measured (mm) | By / date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reference surface — worst feeler gap under the straightedge (Steps 00.10 / 01.1) | ≤ 0.1, no larger than the 00.10 figure | ||
| Bottom square, diagonal 1 | ≈721 (350) | ||
| Bottom square, diagonal 2 | = diagonal 1 | ||
| Top square, diagonal 1 | = bottom pair | ||
| Top square, diagonal 2 | = diagonal 1 | ||
| Front face, diagonals 1 / 2 | equal (≈735) | ||
| Rear face, diagonals 1 / 2 | equal (≈735) | ||
| Left face, diagonals 1 / 2 | equal (≈735) | ||
| Right face, diagonals 1 / 2 | equal (≈735) | ||
| Centreline to bed extrusion inner face — 4 places | 65 each | ||
| Clear gap between bed extrusions | 130 | ||
| Torque setting used, if any | one value, all 16 |
Good stopping point · ~25 min since the last one
final squareness pass done, backers confirmed still bagged for Ch 05, and the frame log table complete. Work through Checkpoint 01, then the frame can come off the counter.
