Do: Tape the carriage mid-rail; peel its Ch 00 bands off with the rail flat. Sit the rail on the D extrusion, centred by an MGN12 guide at each end. Start holes 2 and 14, then the rest; tighten centre-outwards.
Check
15 mm of bare extrusion beyond each rail end, equal; the carriage runs the rail with no tight spot and no gap underneath.
What you're looking at
Same centre-and-tighten procedure as the Y rails, with the larger MGN12 guides. This is the rail that decides print quality across X: it must sit centred along its whole length and pull down flat with no gap underneath.
Caution
Rev D+ / LDO: every other hole from the second here too; both end holes stay open. src
