Step 05.38 — Bolt the joints from above, with the cable bridge

Parts:

Do:

  1. Left joint: two M5×10 BHCS down into the top-slot T-nuts.
  2. Right joint: lay the cable bridge's foot over the same two holes and bolt through both with the longer M5×16 BHCS.
  3. "LEAVE SLIGHTLY LOOSE": lightly tighten.

Bridge foot flat with its arm standing up on the right-hand side; four bolts started and lightly tightened, none torqued.

What you're looking at

Bolts through the top of each joint into the beam's top-slot T-nuts. On the right, the cable bridge's foot is sandwiched under the heads, so that side needs the longer M5×16. They stay slightly loose: Ch 06 squares the gantry by nudging these joints.
