Step 06.17 — Loosen the four top belt clamps¶

Parts: none.
Do: At each corner, back off the two M5×16 BHCS on top of the front idler or drive until a belt slides under the upper clip. Do not remove them. Leave the M3×30 and M5×30 underneath alone.
Check
A strip of belt slips under the upper clip at all four corners, and no first belt end has moved.
What you're looking at
The blue upper clip on top of each front idler and A/B drive, fitted in Ch 05, is where the belt's second end clamps. Its two M5×16 also hold that frame to the Y extrusion.
