Do: Heat the hotend to the ASA print temperature of 260 °C with filament loaded and the extruder engaged. Repeat 13.40's measurement once, caliper rather than rule on the remainder: tape at the 120 mm mark from the extruder entrance, then

Check

R reads ≈20 mm, so the extruded amount is within 0.5 % of target: 99.5 to 100.5 mm. Record it in the tuning log.

What you're looking at

rotation_distance is millimetres of filament per motor revolution. The measurement is indirect: the rule reads the remainder, not the amount extruded. Ch 13 Step 13.40 owns it; this is the refinement pass, now that the extruder has run a print.

and measure from the extruder entrance to the tape — that reading is the remaining distance R. [extruder] still carries the max_extrude_only_distance: 150 from 13.40. If the result is outside 0.5 %, apply 13.40's formula (new = old × (120 − R) / 100, using the value currently in the config), test it live with SET_EXTRUDER_ROTATION_DISTANCE EXTRUDER=extruder DISTANCE=<value>, and when it lands write the final number into [extruder] rotation_distance and RESTART. Never put 22.6789511 back — it is the Clockwork 2 starting point, not a calibration.

Good stopping point · ~20 min since the last one

rotation distance measured, iterated and written into [extruder], and Klipper restarted on the new value. Unload or park the filament; do not leave the hotend hot.
