Parts:
- M3×40 SHCS ×6 · Fasteners, Tools & Misc box
- one
z_drive_main_awith its side inserts · already on the bench
Do:
- Lower the main over the shaft, counterbores up, halves meeting with no gap.
- Drive the six M3×40 SHCS through the counterbores into the retainer's inserts, criss-cross. Snug, then stop.
- Every head must sink into a counterbore.
Check
Six heads down in their counterbores, no gap along the joint line, and the shaft still spins freely by hand with the belt on.
What you're looking at
Manual p.36: z_drive_main, the deeper half, closing over the shaft. Its flat face has six counterbored holes, no inserts, and a rectangular window that clears only the 80T rim. The six M3×40 run through both halves and bite the inserts in the retainer's outer face.
Tip
If the shaft binds, a bearing is trapped crooked: back the screws off and reseat.
