Do: Drop three M5 nuts into the hex pockets of each XY joint body, flats aligned to the pocket. Push each fully home with a spare M5 bolt; a proud nut stops the joint closing and cracks the pocket.
Check
Three nuts per joint, all flush in their pockets, none rotated out of the hex.
What you're looking at
The XY joints are the two printed blocks that ride on the Y carriages. Each is a thick lower body, ~34 mm, plus a thin upper plate, ~16 mm. The right lower body has a moulded wire channel; the left is plain.
