Parts:
- the A belt · already on the bench
Do: Take the A belt end left along the X extrusion to the left XY joint. Wrap it 90° around the joint's plain bearing stack, smooth back on the bearings, so it runs rearward along the left Y extrusion.
Check
The belt sits centred in the stack groove, not climbing a flange, smooth back on the bearings, with no twist back to the carriage.
What you're looking at
Work in one direction round the loop. Needle-nose pliers or tweezers make the bearing stacks manageable (p.132). Do not force a belt round a stack — if it will not go at a front idler, use the access trick in Step 07.15.
The left XY joint's upper, plain F695 pair is where the A belt turns 90°, smooth back on the bearings. The toothed idler below it belongs to B. Centred in the groove is the whole requirement: a belt climbing a flange frays.
