Step 08.48 — Hotend thermistor into TH0

Step 48 of 65 with a helper · Chapter 08 — Toolhead: Stealthburner, Clockwork 2, Revo HF, Nitehawk-SB V2

Parts:

  • the Revo thermistor lead · already on the bench
  • multimeter · tool

Do:

  1. Measure across the thermistor pigtail: a Semitec 104NT-4-R025H42G reads 100 kΩ at 25 °C. Near 0 Ω or open is a broken lead.
  2. Plug it into TH0, the 2-pin JST-PH2.0 left of the heater terminal, signal PB12.

check Check

Housing fully seated, and the ~100 kΩ reading was taken before it went in. (verify on bench)

helperHelper Reads the meter aloud and says whether it shows about 100 kΩ.

What you're looking at

TH0 reads the hotend thermistor, an NTC resistor whose resistance falls as it heats. Klipper computes temperature from that resistance, so an open lead looks like a hotend that never warms and a shorted one like a hotend on fire.
