Step 08.50 — Probe into PROBE¶

Parts:
- the inductive probe's pre-terminated lead · already on the bench
Do: Plug the probe into PROBE: JST-PH2.0 3-pin, GND / SIG (PC15) / 24V. The kit's Z probe ships in the toolhead cable bag already terminated for this port.
Check
Plug seated, and you can trace GND / SIG / 24V against the silkscreen.
What you're looking at
PROBE is the 3-pin port for the inductive probe, the sensor the machine uses for QGL and the bed mesh. Its third pin carries a live 24 V, so any probe expecting 5 V there must have that pin left out of the housing.
Caution
Rev D+ / LDO: the third pin is a live 24 V feed. If you ever fit a Klicky here, its 24 V pin must be left unpopulated; if you fit a TAP-style board, confirm it is 24 V-tolerant first. src
