Do:
- Cord out of the room. Find 3 FG, the ⏚ beside 2 N, and 4 −V next to it.
- VHB the foot down
(verify on bench), foot forward, between 3 FG and 4 −V. - Snap every AC lid on.
Check
Screws 1–3 on the fin's mains side, −V and +V on the other. Fin ≥2 mm from both, no lower than the PSU top (verify on bench).
What you're looking at
The strip fin, a 55 mm plate on a flat 22 by 12 mm foot, stands between the PSU's 3 FG and 4 −V screws: DC leads leave forward, mains rearward. The AC lids cover every mains lead; the terminal screws stay open.
Tip
10.80 comes here, before the 10.73 sweep, on purpose. It was added to the chapter last, so it carries the last number.
Layout v3
a silkscreen in any other order moves the fin; stop and re-check before sticking it. Never loosen or bend a terminal to make room, and no lead may be pinched under a lid. LDO layout: skip this step; LDO's build has no fin and its lids stay off. LDO § Finish line
Good stopping point · ~30 min since the last one
below-deck runs dressed, mains in the AC conduit and DC in the loop, both deck openings strain-relieved, every cable tagged, bay walked against LDO's photo and the overlay, strip fin fitted and every AC lid on; DC lids still off. Do not fit a DC lid or any skirt.
