Step 11.60 — Fit the aluminium handlebars

Step 61 of 67 with a helper · Chapter 11 — Skirts, panels, Clicky-Clack door, filtration

Parts:

  • aluminium handle ×2 (LDO) · Fasteners, Tools & Misc box
  • handlebar_spacer_x4 ×4 (batch B07) · bin 11-finish
  • M5×14 BHCS ×4 · Fasteners, Tools & Misc box
  • M5 hammerhead T-nut ×4 · Fasteners, Tools & Misc box

Do: Put a printed spacer under each handle foot, then bolt each handle down with M5×14 BHCS into M5 hammerhead nuts in the top frame extrusions. One handle per side, positioned so a two-person lift is balanced.

check Check

Both handles solid, the spacers carrying the load rather than the polycarbonate, and nothing flexing at the panel on a one-inch lift.

helperHelper Holds each handle square on its spacers while you drive the screws.

What you're looking at

The two aluminium handlebars are an LDO kit extra with no page in the Voron manual. The printed handlebar_spacer under each foot takes up the top panel's thickness, so the load goes into the frame extrusion rather than into the polycarbonate.

Caution

Rev D+ / LDO: "This optional part offsets the top panel thickness and helps mount the included aluminium handle bar." The 350 Rev D BOM ships two aluminium handles and four M5×14 BHCS. src · src
