Do: Push the gantry all the way to the back until the endstop clicks, hold, and send QUERY_ENDSTOPS.
Send: QUERY_ENDSTOPS
Recv: // stepper_x:open stepper_y:TRIGGERED stepper_z:open
Check
Only stepper_y changes, and it releases when you move the gantry forward again.
Helper Sends QUERY_ENDSTOPS while the adult holds the gantry at the back, then reads the reply aloud.
What you're looking at
The Y endstop is the other switch on that same pod, pressed when the whole gantry reaches the back of the machine. Same three-part chain, same test.
