Tools and consumables

  • steel rule
  • a length of string
  • Galaxy Black ASA, about 70 g
  • blue accent ASA, about 35 g
  • the Core One+ with the smooth sheet

Parts:

  • steel rule · tool
  • a length of string · tool

Do:

  1. Machine off: do the exhaust cover and grill fill a notch in the back panel's top edge?
  2. Rule the free depth behind it; string a lead route to FAN0.
  3. Note where the PTFE enters.

Every row of the calculator below answered and passing, and the string length written down.

helperHelper Holds the string along the route and reads its length off the rule.

What you're looking at

This part is optional. It fits the stock Voron exhaust housing over the back panel's exhaust notch, in place of the cover Ch 11 sealed it with, and lets the chamber thermistor drive its 60 mm fan through Klipper. PLA and PETG then print under a 35–40 °C ceiling; ASA keeps a closed, unvented chamber and the Nevermore. Nothing is cut, and nothing is bought or printed until the first step has checked this machine. The fan takes the Leviathan's FAN0 and a third 24 V jumper: Ch 10's "exactly two jumpers" and "FAN0 empty" describe the machine before this add-on, and stay true for a build without it. Expect a ceiling, not air conditioning: Voron's own tuning notes say PLA may still want the door open.

The stock housing hangs outside the back panel over the exhaust notch, its grill in the notch and two mounts on the top rear extrusion. It stands about 62 mm proud, and its fan lead must reach the electronics bay.

Exhaust add-on — does the stock housing fit this machine — the calculator needs JavaScript; the limits are in the table on this page.

Caution

A failing row ends the add-on here. Cutting the back panel or printing a community remix is a different job, decided separately, and nothing below covers it.
