Step 14.31 — Plug the lead into FAN0 and jumper it for 24 V¶
Step 31 of 36 · Chapter 14 — Calibration and tuning
Parts:
- JST-XH 2-pin extension lead, 1 m ×1 · bin 14-exhaust, bought at Ch 00
- voltage-selection jumper ×1 · the Ch 09 jumper bag
- zip ties · consumable
- VHB tape · consumable
Do:
- Extend the fan lead; run it down the back panel's inside on VHB tie points, through the Z-chain notch.
- Plug it into FAN0, red where FAN2's red is.
- Jumper Fan0 on the 24 V pins.
Check
Exactly three jumpers, Fan0, Fan2 and Fan3, all on the 24 V pins; Fan1 and Probe bare. The lead clears the bed and gantry.
What you're looking at
FAN0 is the first of the Leviathan's four fan headers, a 3-pin XH socket on pin PB7. The jumper block beside them picks each port's voltage; this fan is a 24 V part.
Caution
From here on this machine has three jumpers and a live FAN0, not the two jumpers Ch 10 checks for. A jumper on 5 V, or a 5 V fan on 24 V, destroys the fan or the board.
