Step 21 of 32 with a helper · Chapter 00 — Before you start

(no image — see text)

Parts:

  • the seven greased rails · set out now, fitted later
  • masking tape · consumable
  • marker · tool
  • storage bin ×1 · consumable

Do:

  1. Label the tape X for the MGN12H, Y1/Y2 and Z0/Z1/Z2/Z3 for the six MGN9H.
  2. Leave both end stops on until Ch 02 and Ch 05.
  3. Tape each carriage, bag each rail, and store them in one bin.

check Check

Seven labelled, bagged rails; end stops and carriage tape intact on all seven; bin stored flat and away from foot traffic.

helperHelper Writes the seven rail labels X, Y1, Y2 and Z0 to Z3, and checks each bag.

What you're looking at

Seven finished rails, tape and a marker. One is the MGN12H that carries the toolhead on X; the six MGN9H split into two gantry Y rails and four vertical Z rails. Labelling them now stops a mix-up in Ch 02 and Ch 05.
