Step 06b.6 — Release the A/B belt tension completely¶
Step 32 of 42 · Chapter 06 — Z axis (and Chapter 06b — Gantry squaring)
Parts: none.
Do: Back both front idler tensioners fully off until the belts are fully disengaged. If tension remains with the idlers fully backed off, release the belt ends from the X carriage. Voron step 5.
Check
Both A/B belts are slack enough to lift off their runs by 10 mm with one finger.
What you're looking at
The two front idler tensioners, backed fully off. The A/B belts pull the X extrusion diagonally, so any tension left in them drags the gantry back out of alignment while you are trying to align it.
