Step 08.36 — Wire the three-LED chain¶
Step 36 of 65 · Chapter 08 — Toolhead: Stealthburner, Clockwork 2, Revo HF, Nitehawk-SB V2

Parts:
- the logo LED in its carrier · already on the bench
- toolhead LED, chain index 2 and 3 ×2 · the LDO kit, no BOM row
- 3-core 0.16 mm² wire, AWG26–30, 320 mm, only if not pre-soldered · consumable
Do:
- Check the toolhead cable bag: many Rev D kits ship this chain pre-soldered.
- Otherwise solder OUT to IN: 120 mm to logo 1, 100 mm to right 2, 100 mm to left 3. Wires exit the same way.
Check
Continuity on each data wire, connector to logo DIN, then each DOUT to the next DIN; 5 V and GND common; no 5 V–GND short.
What you're looking at
These are addressable LEDs wired as a chain: data goes in to the first and out to the next, so each LED's position is its address. Logo is index 1, right toolhead LED 2, left 3, the order chain_count: 3 and every LED macro assume.
Caution
Rev D+ / LDO: the config declares chain_count: 3 and color_order: GRBW. A colour-order mismatch shows up as wrong colours, never as a failure — if the LEDs light in the wrong colours in Ch 13, change color_order, do not rewire. src
Good stopping point · ~25 min since the last one
the hotend leads are terminated, the 5015 ears are trimmed and filed, and the three-LED chain is soldered and continuity-checked. Nothing is in the Stealthburner body yet. Iron off and cool. Do not coil the chain tightly: the 100 and 120 mm pigtails are cut to fit the printed channels and kinking them loses that length.
