Parts:
- 40×40×10 axial fan, 24 V ×1 · Belts, Chains & Fans box
Do: Rotate the fan so its wires exit at the top and its airflow pushes inwards, into the heatsink. Confirm against the moulded arrow on the frame. Clip it in at a slight angle; it snaps the body's support webs.
Check
Wires at top, airflow arrow pointing into the body. Spin the impeller with a finger: free, no rub.
Helper Finds the airflow arrow on the fan frame and checks that it points into the body.
What you're looking at
The 4010 axial fan is the hotend fan: it blows through the heatsink's fins to keep the cold side of the hotend cold. Direction is absolute: the moulded arrow must point into the heatsink. As it seats, the fan snaps the body's support webs.
