Step 08.52 — Account for the ports you are not using¶
Step 52 of 65 with a helper · Chapter 08 — Toolhead: Stealthburner, Clockwork 2, Revo HF, Nitehawk-SB V2
Parts: none.
Do: Walk the board once and confirm what stays empty:
Check
Nothing plugged into XY ENDSTOP or I2C. The USB expansion header and both buttons are not buried under a cable bundle.
Helper Reads each port name from the table aloud while you find it on the board.
What you're looking at
XY ENDSTOP and I2C stay empty. The USB expansion header and the BOOT0 / RESET buttons must stay reachable: the buttons flash firmware in Ch 12, and that spare USB port is the "+" in Rev D**+**. The harness map shows every port and pin.
| Port | Type | Status in this build |
|---|---|---|
XY ENDSTOP |
JST-PH2.0 4P — GND / X (PB0) / Y (PB1) / 5V |
Unused. The XY endstop PCB wires to the Leviathan, not the toolhead |
I2C |
JST-PH2.0 4P — SCL (PB3) / SDA (PB4) / 3V3 / GND |
Unused |
USB expansion |
JST-ZH1.5 5P — GND / GND / D+ / D− / 5V |
Unused now. This is the "+" in Rev D+; leave it physically reachable |
BOOT / RESET buttons |
tactile, beside the USB header | Leave clear — Ch 12 flashing may need them |
Caution
Rev D+ / LDO: leave enough umbilical slack that the secondary USB port stays reachable without pulling the toolhead off. A future eddy-current probe or nozzle camera plugs in there, and that port is the entire reason this kit is "Rev D+". src
