Step 10.37 — Mount the LED junction PCB on its spacer¶
Step 37 of 80 · Chapter 10 — Wiring and Checkpoint #1
Parts:
- 3×2 XH splicer PCB ×1 · Electronics 2 box
2x3 Splitter Spacer×1 (LDO-supplied printed) · Electronics 2 box- M3×8 SHCS ×2 · Fasteners, Tools & Misc box
- M3 hammerhead T-nut ×2 · Fasteners, Tools & Misc box
Do: Stack the PCB on the printed spacer and bolt the sandwich to the inner face of the rear top extrusion. Plug the left and right strip leads into two of the three ports.
Check
The spacer is fitted. LDO calls it out twice: bolting the bare PCB against the extrusion shorts it. Nothing on the PCB's underside touches aluminium.
What you're looking at
The 3×2 splicer PCB is a passive junction board: the two strip leads plug into two ports, the third carries one cable down to the mainboard. The printed spacer holds the bare board off the extrusion, which would otherwise short its underside.
