Step 10.41 — A motor → HV-STEPPER-1

Step 41 of 80 · Chapter 10 — Wiring and Checkpoint #1

Parts:

  • the A motor's lead · already on the bench

Do: Plug the A motor, rear right, into the TMC5160 port LDO's diagram labels HV-STEPPER-1. Match your board against S1_mapping.jpg, not the Stepper X/Y silkscreen. Route the lead from the notch along the DC loop's right run and middle run.

check Check

Connector fully home, latch engaged, lead in the DC loop with slack and no tension on the header.

What you're looking at

HV-STEPPER-1 is one of the two high-voltage driver sockets on the Leviathan: a TMC5160, the strongest driver pair on the board, reserved for the two CoreXY motors. The 4-pin plug carries the motor's two coils, two wires each.

Layout v3

this route adds about 195 mm to A over LDO's route; B11.9 confirmed the lead reaches with spare, or a longer replacement lead was made (verify on bench). LDO layout: route the lead as S1_mapping.jpg shows. LDO § Connecting steppers

Caution

Rev D+ / LDO: never plug or unplug a stepper with power on, and never spin a connected motor fast by hand or shove the gantry — a fast move generates back-EMF the driver has to absorb. The slow hand moves Ch 13 and Ch 06b ask for are fine, with those drivers disabled first. src
