Step 10.46 — Nozzle probe → Z-ENDSTOP

Step 46 of 80 · Chapter 10 — Wiring and Checkpoint #1

Parts:

  • the Z endstop cable · already on the bench

Do: Plug the nozzle-probe lead into the port labelled Z-ENDSTOP.

check Check

Z-ENDSTOP, not Z-PROBE. The Leviathan's Z-PROBE header stays empty for the whole build; the inductive probe is on the toolboard's PROBE port, read as nhk:PC15.

What you're looking at

Z-ENDSTOP and Z-PROBE are two different headers a few millimetres apart on the same board. The mechanical nozzle probe belongs on Z-ENDSTOP; Z-PROBE stays empty for the entire build, because the inductive probe is wired to the toolboard instead.

Caution

Rev D+ / LDO: the stock config's comment says "Connected to Z-PROBE" above a nhk: pin. The comment is stale; the pin is authoritative. src

pause Good stopping point · ~30 min since the last one

six steppers tagged and plugged on their mapped ports, STEPPER-4 empty, bed thermistor on TH1, XY endstops and the nozzle probe on their headers. No chain work started.
