Step 10.55 — Connector types on the V2 toolboard

Step 55 of 80 · Chapter 10 — Wiring and Checkpoint #1

Parts: none.

Do: Before you touch anything on the toolhead, confirm what Ch 08 fitted:

The probe, hotend-thermistor and endstop plugs are the small PH2.0 housings. The extruder motor stays XH2.5 and the umbilical stays XT30.

What you're looking at

The Nitehawk-SB V2 is the toolboard: the small PCB on the toolhead driving the hotend, fans, LEDs, probe and accelerometer, so only one cable crosses the moving gantry. V2 uses the finer JST-PH2.0 housings where the Rev D guide still names the coarser XH2.5.

Port Rev D wiring guide says Rev D+ / Nitehawk V2 actually is
PROBE not specified JST-PH2.0 3P, 24 V only
TH0 (hotend thermistor) "JST-XH2.5 two pin" JST-PH2.0 2P, 2.2 kΩ pull-up
Endstop (X/Y) not specified — only "the endstop port isn't used in a standard Rev D build" JST-PH2.0 4P — unused in a standard build
HE0 (hotend heater) screw terminal / E0508 ferrule unchanged

TH0 is the one real conflict: JST-XH2.5 is the only connector the Rev D guide names for the toolhead, and for the SB fans it names JST-PH2.0.

Caution

Rev D+ / LDO: the Rev D wiring guide has not been updated for this. Trust the V2 board doc. src — survey §4.1 ③
