Parts:

  • drag chain 10×10 R18 ×1 · Belts, Chains & Fans box
  • M3 roll-in T-nut ×1 · Fasteners, Tools & Misc box
  • M3×6 FHCS ×3 (verify on bench) · Fasteners, Tools & Misc box
  • the CW2 chain anchor on the toolhead · already on the bench

Do: Cut the chain to length. Slide the T-nut into the top slot of the X extrusion. Fix the chain's fixed end to it with one M3×6 FHCS, and the moving end to the CW2 chain anchor with two.

Check

Push the toolhead through its full X travel by hand. The chain rolls, never drags on the extrusion, and never reaches full extension.

What you're looking at

A drag chain is an articulated conduit letting a cable follow a moving part without flexing in the same spot twice. The X chain runs along the top of the X extrusion, fixed at one end, clipped to the toolhead anchor at the other.

Caution

Rev D+ / LDO: the kit ships 2-hole chain ends — print *_2hole variants, never *_3hole. src
