Ch 10 › Section 6 — Toolhead umbilical and the drag chains66 / 80

Step 10.66 — Zip-tie both ends of every chain

Step 66 of 80 · Chapter 10 — Wiring and Checkpoint #1

Parts:

  • zip ties, 12 · consumable

Do:

  1. Tie to the small tab on each end link, at all six chain ends.
  2. If a tab is in the way, cut it off and tie around the end link itself.

Check

Six tie points. Pull the umbilical at each end: the strain lands on the zip tie, not the connector.

What you're looking at

Each end link of a chain has a small tab moulded on for a zip tie. The tie is a strain relief: pull on the umbilical and the load stops at the tie instead of arriving at the XT30 or Micro-Fit connector.
