Step 11.27 — Modify both 5015 fan enclosures¶

Parts:
- Nevermore 5015 fan ×2 · set out now, fitted later
- wire snips · tool
Do:
- Pry the tabs holding each fan's enclosure together and separate it.
- With wire snips, remove the section of plastic the guide highlights from each housing.
- Use snips, not a blade.
Check
Both fans modified identically, impellers still spin freely, no cracked housing, no swarf left inside the scroll.
What you're looking at
A 5015 blower is a 50 × 15 mm squirrel-cage fan: it makes pressure rather than free-air flow, which is what pushes chamber air through packed carbon. Both housings have to be opened and a section of plastic removed so they fit the plenum.
