Step 11.45 — Fit the rubber panel retainer strip

Step 46 of 67 · Chapter 11 — Skirts, panels, Clicky-Clack door, filtration

(no image — see mod README)

Parts:

  • panel retainer strip, 2 m ×1 · Clicky-Clack door kit
  • side cutters · tool

Do: Cut the strip to length for each side with 45° mitres at the corners, then press it into the extrusion groove alongside the acrylic. It takes up the clearance and stops the panel rattling.

Check

Strip seated all the way round with the mitres closed; the acrylic no longer moves in the frame when you tap it.

What you're looking at

The rubber retainer strip is an extruded profile that presses into the frame groove alongside the acrylic and takes up the clearance. Without it the panel rattles in its slot every time the door closes.
