Ch 11 › Part A — before Ch 13, machine unplugged50 / 67

Step 11.49 — Fit the latch's heat-set and panel clip

Step 50 of 67 · Chapter 11 — Skirts, panels, Clicky-Clack door, filtration

Parts:

  • the latch · already on the bench
  • M3×5×4 heat-set insert ×1 · Clicky-Clack door kit
  • Panel_Clip ×1 · bin 11-door
  • M3×8 BHCS ×1 · Clicky-Clack door kit

Do: Press one heat-set insert into the hole in the middle of the latch and let it cool. Then screw the Panel_Clip onto the latch with the M3×8 BHCS.

Check

Insert square and flush; the panel clip is solid on the latch and its panel groove is unobstructed.

What you're looking at

The Panel_Clip is both the door's catch and the middle side-panel clip for that side, so one of the eight clips fitted at 11.57 is displaced by it at 11.63. The heat-set gives the latch a metal thread.
