Parts:
- the touchscreen module, ribbon latched at both ends · already on the bench
- M3 roll-in T-nut ×3 · Fasteners, Tools & Misc box
- M3×8 SHCS ×3 · Fasteners, Tools & Misc box
Do:
- Free the module from its tape without pulling the ribbon.
- Roll three M3 T-nuts into the front extrusion.
- Slide the module between the two front skirts, top rails flush, and drive three M3×8 SHCS snug.
Check
The module's top rail is flush and continuous with both front skirt rails; the screen is level; the gaps to front_skirt_a and front_skirt_b are equal.
Helper Holds the module level between the two front skirts while you drive its three screws.
What you're looking at
The finished touchscreen module now becomes a skirt segment in its own right, filling the centre-front gap between the two front skirts. Its top rail has to line up flush with theirs or the front of the machine reads as three separate parts.
Caution
Rev D+ / LDO: the manual's p.220 fastener is M3×12 SHCS into the mini12864 case. The BTT mount uses M3×8 SHCS into M3 roll-in nuts — 5 M3×8 and 3 roll-in nuts across steps 11.5 and 11.7. src
