Step 12.3 — Fill in the Imager customisation

Step 3 of 37 · Chapter 12 — Software: Pi OS image, Klipper/Moonraker/Mainsail, firmware, printer.cfg

Parts: none.

Do:

  1. Hostname: voron gives you http://voron.local. Localisation: your timezone.
  2. User: a username and a real password, never the pi/raspberry default. Wi-Fi: SSID and password.
  3. Remote access: enable SSH. Write, confirming the erase prompt.

check Check

Imager reports a successful write and verify. Eject the card.

What you're looking at

The Imager's customisation pages write settings into the image before it boots, so the Pi comes up named, on the network and reachable over SSH. The screenshots carry placeholder values; type your own. The hostname is the address you use from now on.

tip Tip

set both Wi-Fi and plug in Ethernet. Wi-Fi is the long-term link; Ethernet is what you fall back to when Wi-Fi is the thing that broke. src
