Step 12.6 — Update everything before you touch anything else¶
Step 6 of 37 · Chapter 12 — Software: Pi OS image, Klipper/Moonraker/Mainsail, firmware, printer.cfg
Parts: none.
Do: In Mainsail go to Machine → Update Manager, bottom right, and click Update all components. Let it finish, including the system packages. Reboot if it asks.
Check
Every row in the Update Manager reads up to date.
What you're looking at
The screenshot, from the Mainsail docs, is the Update Manager: Moonraker's package updater inside Mainsail. It runs now because each MCU's firmware has to be compiled from exactly the Klipper version the host ends up on.
Why now: the version of Klipper you end up with here is the version you must build MCU firmware from in Steps 12.14 and 12.17. Update first, then flash — do it the other way round and you will re-flash both boards after the first update. src
Good stopping point · ~25 min since the last one
MainsailOS written, first boot done, the Pi is on the network and Mainsail answers on voron.local, and everything is updated. The printer is still unpowered. A good place to stop: nothing is half-flashed.
