Step 46 of 54 with a helper · Chapter 13 — Initial startup

(no image — see text)

Parts:

  • digital caliper · tool

Do:

  1. Power on, M112 ready: G28 then G0 X175 Y175 Z10. Omron face to plate, minus 10, is d.
  2. Full Y, over the left extrusion: Omron to its top, minus 10, is G.
  3. At Z1 jog to the plate edge; position_max minus M114 Y is O.

check Check

G is within 0.3 mm of H plus d. d, G, O and that edge Y are written down.

helperHelper Reads each caliper value and the M114 Y aloud and writes them down.

What you're looking at

The Omron rides 25 mm behind the nozzle, so it sweeps the strip behind the plate whenever the rear rows print. d and G are its height; O is how far the nozzle travels past the plate's rear edge.
