Step 13.8 — Short heat test: bed to 50 °C, and watch the SSR¶
Step 8 of 54 · Chapter 13 — Initial startup
Parts: none.
Do: Lift the machine onto blocks or lay it on its side so the bay is visible. Hand back on the switch. Set the Bed target to 50 and watch the SSR's indicator LED as well as the graph.
Check
The SSR LED comes on and the bed temperature climbs; set the target to Off.
What you're looking at
The same test on the other heater, with a second thing to watch: the SSR's own indicator LED down in the bay. That LED shows the relay's control side receiving its signal, splitting any bed fault into mains side or control side.
Tip
[heater_bed] max_power: 0.6 in the LDO config is deliberate — it limits warp on a 350 plate. Do not raise it because 100 °C feels slow.
