Ch 14 › Part F — Pressure advance and flow20 / 36

Step 14.20 — The 0.5 % refinement pass

Step 20 of 36 · Chapter 14 — Calibration and tuning

(no image — see text)

Parts:

  • Prusament ASA, about 25 g · consumable

Do: Take the winner from 14.19 and print four more cubes at ±0.5 % and ±1.0 % around it. Pick the smoothest centre and write that number into the filament profile's extrusion multiplier, not the print profile.

Check

The chosen cube has a uniformly smooth top with no gaps and no ridging.

What you're looking at

A second, finer pass around the winner, judged the same way by eye on the centre of each top surface. The multiplier is not a size setting: Ellis tunes it for the surface, and Voron parts need no other compensation.

Good stopping point · ~25 min since the last one

both extrusion-multiplier passes done and the final number written into the filament profile. It was chosen by the top surface, not by a caliper.
